The charity described Brazil as its fastest-growing country by several times, with uptake of the blocking software service experiencing rapid expansion.

BetBlocker reaches 20,000 active users in Brazil

Key points:

– BetBlocker has surpassed 20,000 active users in Brazil since January 2025, marking its fastest-growing market

– The charity’s success follows the launch of a Portuguese-language version of its blocking software to reach Brazil’s expanding gambling audience

– BetBlocker continues global expansion through new language versions, industry partnerships and membership in the US National Council on Problem Gambling

BetBlocker, the UK-based gambling harm prevention charity, has announced a new milestone, reporting over 20,000 active users in Brazil since the start of 2025.

The landmark figure was shared via the organisation’s LinkedIn page, with BetBlocker confirming that Brazil has rapidly become its fastest-growing country by a wide margin.

The surge follows strategic efforts to increase accessibility for Portuguese speakers. In September 2024, BetBlocker launched a Portuguese version of its blocking software to reach the 200+ million native Portuguese speakers worldwide, with Brazil’s emerging online gambling market seen as a key priority.

The charity’s Founder and Trustee, Duncan Garvie, has previously highlighted that expanding language options can boost user engagement by up to tenfold, especially for people seeking support during moments of crisis.

Good to know: BetBlocker’s free tool enables individuals to block themselves from accessing over 90,000 gambling websites and 1,500 gambling apps

With Brazil’s regulated online gaming and sports betting market continuing to develop, BetBlocker’s growth underscores the rising demand for accessible safer gambling tools in Latin America.

This milestone comes as BetBlocker continues its broader international expansion, including recent launches of Serbian, Japanese and French versions of its app.

The charity has also strengthened its presence in North America by joining the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) as its only Gold Non-Profit Member. The move signals BetBlocker’s intent to raise awareness and extend its support in the highly competitive US market.
