The Trident Leagues, which comprises the Northern Premier League, the Southern League and the Isthmian League, has been the subject of a multi-million-pound investment program led by the Entain Foundation.
At the start of the 2021/22 football season, 27 football clubs were initially offered grants as part of the Foundation’s £150,000-per-year ($200,000) investment in grassroots football.
This next wave sees 19 additional clubs benefit from grants of up to £5,000 each.
Stuart Pearce, former England captain and Pitching In Ambassador, commented: “These clubs play a vital role in the community, promoting health and wellbeing. The initiatives being supported by the Trident Community Fund show the true meaning of Pitching In and will further strengthen the bonds between the clubs and their communities.
“I would like to congratulate those who have been successful – and this is just the start. I look forward to seeing these initiatives come to life and more ideas come in.”
The Trident Leagues, which comprises 226 clubs, represents the seventh and eighth tiers of the English football pyramid. Many of the clubs were among those hit hardest as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Anthony Hughes (Vice Chairman), Nick Robinson and Mark Harris (Chairmen) are among the leaders of the Southern League, Isthmian League and Northern Premier League, respectively.
In a joint statement, they said: “We are delighted to receive the continued support of Entain and its Foundation, which enables our clubs to play an active role in their communities, making a full contribution to the wellbeing of their local areas.
“This is a truly groundbreaking partnership and we have an exciting range of projects that we are supporting.”
