Known as the “19th hole,” the new DraftKings Sportsbook is set to launch in 2023 and will be open to customers year-round, with special events scheduled to be held during tournament weeks.
With planning permission now fully approved, computer-rendered designs have been made available to the public, including the specifications for the interior.
DraftKings Senior Director of Retail Sportsbook Michael Kibort, who labelled the project “one-of-a-kind,” commented: “What we have put together is a very unique viewing and entertainment experience with over 3,000 square feet of video screens throughout the venue and it also has a unique indoor and outdoor feel with a little bit of something for everyone.”
In total, the retail sportsbook will include more than 3,400 square feet of video walls and screens, outdoor seating areas and VIP sections. In terms of sports wagering itself, there will be approximately 40 betting kiosks and seven ticket windows, plus a selection of wagering options comparable to those on offer through the DraftKings online sportsbook.
Approximately 390 seats are scheduled to be installed at the venue. There are also plans to create several restaurant and bar options at the facility.
Guests will not need to place wagers to enter the facility, though the venue will be closed to the general public during the WM Phoenix Open, the largest tournament of the PGA Tour. The venue will then be open to VIP guests only.
Construction is expected to commence in May 2022.
