By adding the service to its list of approved payment methods, the platform is looking to offer gamblers greater flexibility.

Apple Pay, a mobile payment and digital wallet service created by multinational tech giant Apple Inc, ranks among the most popular payment methods in the world.

Features of the service include Apple’s Face ID and Touch ID biometric authentication, which NetBet said will make “it faster and easier than ever for players to deposit and start playing.”

Ultimately, speed and safety seem to be the core elements of this partnership. NetBet emphasised Apple Pay’s simplicity and security, saying it saves “Apple users time whilst effectively protecting their data.”

This comes after France’s National Gaming Authority (ANJ) reported an 8% GGR rise for 2021, driven in large part by online gambling.

With more French players going digital, and with Apple holding a significant slice of the country’s smartphone market, NetBet seems keen to capitalise on the rise of online and specifically mobile gambling in France.

It said: “Such is the success of Apple Pay that this new partnership will set NetBet France aside from its competitors and encourage a new generation of players to sign up.”

Echoing this sentiment, Ana Stef, Head of Payments at NetBet France, remarked: “Apple Pay is a state-of-the-art payment service that we are excited to bring to our many customers here at NetBet France.

“Not only will our existing players benefit from this new option, but it will attract a broader range of Apple users to our platform.”
