The online betting operator recently secured approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to offer its services in the Canadian province. It has now followed up this approval by enrolling in the IBIA.
Coolbet will share bet monitoring data with the organisation’s international network of operators, and vice versa, receive access to data shared by other members.
IBIA members can use the organisation’s Monitoring & Alert platform, an anti-corruption tool that detects suspicious activity across its members’ markets.
The association also boasts partnerships with various sporting organisations, including FIFA, UEFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), alongside many regulatory bodies.
Besides Ontario, Coolbet holds operating licences in Malta, Sweden and Estonia. Last year, its parent company, the Vincent Group, was acquired by GAN for nearly €150m ($160m).
Endre Nesset, Senior Vice President of Global Sports at GAN, remarked: “We are very pleased to be part of the IBIA.
“There is strength in numbers and power in unity, and together with the rest of IBIA’s members we are in a great position to help maintain integrity and stop foul play in our industry.”
Other operators to have recently joined the IBIA include VBet, which became a member in April, and Videoslots, whose sportsbook business became a member earlier this month.
Altogether, the IBIA’s members account for more than €115bn in global betting turnover each year, as well as almost 50% of regulated commercial online betting.
