The Plaza is jointly sponsoring the event with the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, which will take place on November 10-11 2023.
Las Vegas Days Rodeo, formerly known as Helldorado Days, is an annual western-themed event that pays homage to the history of Las Vegas through rodeo competitions and a range of historical exhibits, along with events like Whiskerino contest and Mutton Busting.
This year, it will feature events like bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bacon ring, breakaway and bareback riding.
The total prize purse for these events amounts to $45,000. Notably, these rodeo events hold full sanction from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women's Professional Rodeo Association.
In addition to the rodeo action, it will feature a "Then & Now" exhibit showcasing photos of downtown Las Vegas along with western-themed exhibits.
For the younger crowd, the Las Vegas Days Rodeo includes Mutton Busting, a sheep riding competition open to children aged 4-10 weighing less than 60 pounds.
