Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has selected Richard Howarth to take on the role of Chief Business Officer for the APAC region.

Otherwise known as the Asia-Pacific region, APAC typically includes much of East Asia, South Asia and Oceania.

Prior to his appointment at GLI, Howarth served as the Chief Business Officer for IXUP, an Australian technology company.

IXUP is the company behind BetStop, the National Self-Exclusion Register for Australia, as well as the sole provider to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) for the programme.

He has also worked for Trippas White Group as the Executive General Manager of Sales, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, also based in Australia.

Howarth was also the Founder and Managing Director for Proxy Consulting, an independent consulting business that dealt with marketing, sales alignment, strategy planning and content development.

Ian Hughes, GLI APAC CEO, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Richard to GLI and specifically to our APAC labs.

“His depth of knowledge and experience in technology, gaming and hospitality, responsible gaming and customer relations will be of incredible value to GLI’s clients throughout the APAC region.”

As part of his new role, Haworth will oversee and lead growth strategies for labs in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Macao.

This will include managing business relationships with suppliers, operators, regulators, and industry bodies.

GLI manages a variety of services, including delivering land-based lottery and casino property, pre-certification and QA testing, jurisdictional consultation and regulatory advisory support, among others.
