Fontainebleau Development has announced the appointment of Maurice Wooden as the President of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a recently inaugurated five-star luxury resort and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip.

With a career spanning 36 years in the luxury hospitality sector, Wooden's background positions him to lead Fontainebleau Las Vegas as it enters a new chapter, building upon a 70-year legacy.

Jeffrey Soffer, Fontainebleau Development Chairman and CEO, said: "Throughout his career, Maurice has proven himself as a leader dedicated to evolving the luxury hospitality experience on the Las Vegas Strip.

"His well-established track record along with his unparalleled consistency and a deep knowledge of the hospitality and gaming industries instil an exceptional level of confidence in us as we continue the development and refinement of our Las Vegas property.”

In his response to the appointment, Wooden said: "It is extraordinarily invigorating and a tremendous honour to take on the responsibility of leading an incredible team during this defining moment in Las Vegas. The rich history and cultural alignment with this iconic brand resonate with my own passions and I'm looking forward to building on the 70 years of incredible culture that Fontainebleau has established.

"Fontainebleau Development conceived this resort with a unique, independent vision that sets it apart from everything there is and anything there has ever been on the Strip.

This leadership change follows the recent unveiling of Fontainebleau Las Vegas's inaugural retail partnerships on 13 December 2023. The property introduced eight unique concepts across 90,000 square feet, featuring globally recognised designers and brands, along with original concepts by Fontainebleau Development.

A resort official commented that Mark Tricano, who was initially appointed in June to oversee the resort's opening and initial six weeks of operations, will continue to be part of the company and will report to Wooden. However, there was no specific information provided regarding the reasons for the leadership transition.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas aims to differentiate itself through a curated collection of luxury brands and products not commonly found on the Strip. The property plans to introduce additional luxury fashion brands and designers in 2024, positioning itself as a notable retail destination on the Las Vegas Strip.
