In a bid to improve community welfare, Kindred Group has extended its partnership with the Leeds United Foundation. The group has agreed to provide funding for the club's 'Veterans Extra Time Café,' an initiative that aims to support mental health and overall well-being.

The Veterans Extra Time Café comprises free weekly sessions held at Elland Road, exclusively catering to former service members.

Designed to foster positive conversations and social interactions, these sessions offer participants a platform to engage in physical activities like walking and circuit training.

The primary focus is on supporting mental health and guiding individuals towards personal goals by enhancing confidence and providing them with coping strategies.

The recent funding agreement with Kindred Group ensures a substantial expansion of the program, doubling the capacity of these sessions.

Sam Mead, General Manager at Kindred Group, commented: “It’s so important to Kindred to represent more than a logo. This initiative represents everything we aspire to achieve with a sponsorship partnership.

“Across every club we work with, we commit to engaging with the community in a meaningful and tangible way. Our funding has helped scores of people in different areas of the country, and we’re looking forward to seeing this programme develop in the months ahead.”

Stephen Russell, Interim CEO of Leeds United Foundation, added: “We’re always pleased to work with club partners in a progressive and meaningful way – and that’s exactly what is reflected in this commitment from Kindred.

“We know how important the work of these sessions is in promoting healthy conversations around mental and physical health for former service people.”

Across 2024, players, staff and members of the wider Leeds United family are set to actively participate in these sessions, providing insights into the challenges faced by the participants in their daily lives.
