Jersey grants first online licence

The

Jersey
Jersey Gambling Commission (JGC) has awarded its first online gaming licence.

The permit went to lottery provider Twelve40, with the Commission stating that recent changes to UK licensing laws had led to "renewed interest in Jersey as a venue for online gambling".

The Jersey Gambling Commission was created by the Gambling Commission (Jersey) Law 2010 which came into force on the 3 September 2010.

Jersey signed a memorandum of understanding with Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority back in 2012.
