The company, which is a subsidiary of streaming platform fuboTV, has partnered with the Ak-Chin Indian Community in Arizona, to expand its presence within the US mobile sports betting market.
Customers can now place wagers on live professional and collegiate sporting events, either through the mobile app or website. The company claims to be the first owned-and-operated, streaming-integrated mobile sportsbook in the US, and its strategy is to convert passive audiences into active participants.
The platform’s proprietary technology, branded as Watching Now, leverages its parent company’s first-party data to make accurate and relevant betting options based on what individuals are watching. Future updates are planned to further integrate the sportsbook within the fuboTV platform.
On the launch, Scott Butera, Fubo Gaming President, commented: “We are honoured to partner with our first Native American tribe, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, to launch our market-defining sportsbook within the great state of Arizona. In less than a year of establishing Fubo Gaming, we brought our sports betting platform to passionate sports communities across two states and look forward to continuing introducing our unique product to many more consumers.”
Robert Miguel, Chairman, Ak-Chin Indian Community, said: “The Ak-Chin Indian Community is proud to work with a partner like Fubo Gaming in the development of its mobile app for online sports wagering, and we look forward to providing our customers the premier gaming experience they’ve come to expect.”
In addition to launching the sportsbook in Iowa and Arizona, the company has also obtained market access agreements in three other states. These include Pennsylvania, via The Cordish Companies, and Indiana and New Jersey, via Caesar’s Entertainment.
