Plans to loosen restrictions for venues such as these were announced last week by the Quebec government; the plan will also see the reopening of the Casino de Mont-Tremblant on 3 March.
Opening hours vary according to establishment while entry requirements, including vaccination passports and mandatory face coverings, stand. Employees in the gaming area must follow these strictures as well.
The Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé has stated that the need for vaccination passports and the wearing of face coverings will be a measure that is here to stay.
Capacity for each casino will be limited to 50%, however, theatres can operate at 100% capacity as long as stated health measures are followed.
The lifting of restrictions comes as the Quebec government has announced a plan to get out of the current lockdown situation, yet it will be one that will ensure they reach a state where the population can “learn to live with Covid” in the long term. The government is currently also making changes to rules for restaurants, home gatherings and bars.
Hospitalisation has dropped by over 1,000 people in the last three weeks, which is one of the main motivations for this positive action. Quebec government intends to lift nearly all public health restrictions by the middle of March.
