In this role, Ferrucci will head up the Las Vegas-based company’s efforts to open The Temporary at American Place in Waukegan, Illinois, and serve as General Manager of the Silver Slipper Casino Hotel in Hancock County, Mississippi.
He will also oversee the operation of Full House Resorts’ other properties.
Ferrucci has worked his way up the gaming industry ladder from the very bottom, beginning his career as a table games dealer at Harrah’s Atlantic City.
From this humble start, he became a casino credit executive and went on to serve as Casino Manager for Lucayan Beach Resort and Casino in the Bahamas before moving to Mississippi.
Here, Ferrucci opened both the Grand Casino in Gulfport and the Grand Casino in Biloxi, and in 1996 became the General Manager of the New Palace Casino in Biloxi before heading north to help develop and open a Native American casino.
And in 2004, he joined Full House Resorts’ development team for the Silver Slipper, working alongside architects, engineers and designers to develop and open the property.
“I am pleased to promote John Ferrucci to our new role of Chief Operating Officer,” said Daniel R. Lee, Full House Resorts’ President and CEO.
“Under his leadership, the Silver Slipper has reached new levels of profitability. He has helped develop talent throughout our company, including acting as a mentor for the general managers of Bronco Billy’s and Rising Star.”
Full House also provided an update regarding the ongoing development of The Temporary. The company has entered into an agreement to purchase roughly 10 acres of land adjoining the 30-acre casino site to be leased from the City of Waukegan.
Moreover, it has agreed to buy a Sprung tent structure to house a temporary casino at American Place while the permanent facility is under construction.
This tent structure is expected to arrive between late March and late April, while The Temporary is scheduled to open this summer.
