FanDuel appoints Tricia Alcamo as Chief People Officer

FanDuel is preparing to “accelerate” the company’s employee strategy, following a period of sustained growth, by hiring Tricia Alcamo into the role of Chief People Officer.

The Flutter Entertainment-owned betting operator has expanded significantly over the past 12 months, cementing operations in each of the 50 US states.

In March, it was reported FanDuel commands a 43% handle share in New York’s online gaming market, which launched in January this year. The company also recently announced plans to expand into Canada.

Alcamo, formerly of Spectrum Enterprise, has been appointed to bring FanDuel’s HR department in line with the company’s growth plans, with the intention of reflecting the trajectory it intends to pursue.

She commented: “As FanDuel continues to experience rapid growth in this exciting space, the People Team plays a critical role in ensuring that the organisation has the culture and capabilities that will enable sustained success well into the future.

"I'm honoured to be working alongside Amy and the entire leadership group to drive innovative and strategic people practices that lead to winning business outcomes and an outstanding employee experience.”

Alcamo will be responsible for the company’s continued push for diversity and inclusion, as well as overseeing talent acquisition, culture development, employment branding and learning and development.

In her previous role, Alcamo served as Group Vice President of Human Resources at Spectrum. Prior to this, she worked across a number of senior HR positions at American Express and Deloitte.

FanDuel President & CEO Amy Howe said: “I am incredibly excited to welcome Tricia to my leadership team as our new Chief People Officer. Tricia has had a distinguished career building and running award-winning human resources teams at media companies like our own and at globally trusted brands.

“Her arrival reflects our investment in our people and our commitment to a culture that recognises and attracts the most talented team, while providing them the most empathetic and inclusive environment to succeed.”

Across her career, she has been recognised as Multichannel News’ ‘Wonder Woman’ award and has been named Working Mother of the Year.
