Plaza celebrated its 50th anniversary last year but rather than look to the past, the destination hotel has its gaze firmly fixed on the future.
To this end, Jonathan Jossel, the property’s CEO, will offer details of Plaza’s planned redevelopment projects at a special news conference at 11:30 am local time on Tuesday 14 June.
This will take place under the dome of the Plaza Hotel & Casino, where Jossel will be joined by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, her husband Oscar Goodman, the namesake of Oscar’s Steakhouse, and social media influencer Brian Christopher, alongside other “distinguished guests.” Refreshments “representing the new venues” will be served.
“The Plaza, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, will welcome city of Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, her husband, former Las Vegas Mayor and reputed mob attorney Oscar Goodman, leading social influencer for slot machines Brian Christopher and other distinguished guests at the special event to unveil the details of the four projects,” stated Plaza.
Located in downtown Las Vegas, on the site of the old Union Pacific Train Station, the property has been a permanent fixture of Main Street since it opened in 1971.
However, the planned projects will purportedly change the Plaza’s look, including its “iconic dome.” Though details were scant, the property said it will “reimagine the Plaza’s Main Street façade into a one-of-a-kind destination for cocktails, gaming and dining.”
The four projects will get underway this month, added Plaza.
