Washington State’s Muckleshoot Casino has topped off its new hotel tower, moving the 18-storey development one step closer to completion.

Members of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe were in attendance to witness the placement of the final steel beam.

But before the 1,000-pound hunk of metal could be hoisted into place, it was adorned with members’ signatures, as well as those of the men and women responsible for the tower’s construction.

To further mark the occasion, fireworks were set off, and a blessing, alongside a cultural dance of celebration, were performed.

John James, Muckleshoot Casino’s CEO, said: “Under the stewardship of the Muckleshoot Tribe, we’re creating a resort destination where memories will be made.

“Our commanding hotel tower, already drawing regional attention with its proud silhouette against the skyline, will be a beacon for the exceptional.

“From the excitement of more ways to play to the warmth of elevated guest service, we will be the preferred central gathering point to dine, play and stay.”

Despite celebrating this milestone, the casino’s new tower will not be completed until the back half of next year.

The development, which forms part of a multi-year transformation, is expected to open in the autumn of 2023 and boast approximately 400 guestrooms, as well as expanded gaming.

“Piece by piece, we are building towards an exciting new standard for regional tourism,” said Muckleshoot Casino’s COO, Tyrone Simmons.

“The addition of a dynamic resort experience to Muckleshoot Casino exemplifies the Muckleshoot Tribe’s commitment and dedication to developing unmatched destinations.”
