Desert Diamond Casinos to sell interim casino contents in public auction
An Arizona operator will host a public auction next week, giving collectors a chance to get their hands on some genuine casino items.
The company in question, Desert Diamond Casinos, is planning to renovate an old space in Glendale, Arizona next month. However, before any construction work can begin, it must clear out the contents.
As a result, Desert Diamond has decided to conduct an online auction. This will be open to the general public, including West Valley residents, who will be able to bid on any of the more than 200 items available.
This will not include slot machines or gaming tables, but a host of other casino goodies will be up for grabs.
For example, a complete bar, restaurant equipment, illuminated signs, kiosks, speakers, surveillance cameras and custom decorative lighting, among other décor, will be auctioned off.
“Even though there are no slot machines or gaming tables for auction, there are some amazing and unique items to bid on for businesses and residents alike,” said Chris Rushford, Head of Operations for LocalAuctions.com, the website hosting this sale.
Before anyone can place a bid, they must register on LocalAuctions.com. The online auction is open for bidding now through Monday 19 September at 7 pm local time.
An in-person preview will be held on Monday from 9 am until 3 pm for anyone who wishes to see the items before placing a bid. The location is 9431 W Northern Ave, Glendale.
“It is not often the public is invited to purchase items from such a large organisation,” said Rushford. “I think this is an amazing opportunity for Valley residents to get a chance to buy a piece of the first casino to open in Glendale.”
In 2015, Desert Diamond Casinos West Valley opened its 49,000-square-foot interim casino in Glendale, which operated as the interim casino until the current 75,000-square-foot entertainment and gaming venue was constructed.
Now, the company plans on using the old interim casino space for warehousing and storage to support its ongoing operations.
