Locker users engage in real-time sports predictions by answering game-based multiple-choice questions during NFL games. The app awards points for accurate predictions and allows players to compete for cash prizes.
The app debuted its free-to-play product during the Monday Night Football game between the Chargers and Jets on 7 November, with subsequent contests held for each primetime NFL game as part of an ongoing beta launch leading up to the introduction of real-money contests.
Locker CEO Noah Bernstein expressed the company's mission to break down barriers to entry in the sports betting market. “The sports betting products available to today’s mass-market consumer come with a high barrier to entry, which too frequently serves to dissuade participation.
"Our mission through Locker is to fundamentally change that dynamic by bringing to market a product that’s both intuitive and social.”
December marks a milestone for Locker as it embarks on a headline partnership with recently retired NFL superstar DeSean Jackson and Hall of Fame Gaming. Jackson, a Co-Founder of Hall of Fame Gaming, will host three F2P Locker contests on his Twitch channel.
“Locker is about to shake up the online gaming space and I’m fired up to be part of it from the outset by bringing these fun and rewarding contests to Hall of Fame Gaming’s expansive and hyper-engaged audience,” said Jackson. “I’m especially looking forward to watching my Eagles take it to the Cowboys on a national stage while competing in a Locker contest against all my fans and haters from coast to coast!”
