Middlesbrough FC’s sponsor, Kindred Group, will donate its front-of-shirt space this weekend for the MFC Foundation.
This follows on from last season when Kindred also donated Boro’s front-of-shirt sponsorship space to the MFC Foundation for its Championship clash against Millwall.
Ahead of this Saturday’s fixture against Rotherham, the Foundation’s logo will replace the usual Unibet branding as part of the club’s ‘Foundation Weekend;’ to help highlight the work it does to support participants of all ages in the local community and how people can access its projects and services.
Kindred, alongside Boro’s other commercial partners, helps to support the foundation, with the operator itself supporting the MFC Foundation’s ‘Think With Your Feet’ programme. This allows men to meet and play football and discuss their mental health issues in a safe, respectful environment.
During the game this weekend, eight of the Foundation’s participants will be watching the game from its hospitality area, will meet Boro ambassadors and have a guided tour of the Riverside Stadium.
Kindred Group General Manager, Sam Mead, said: “It’s important for all of us at Kindred to use our position as principal Partner to help the Foundation achieve the visibility and recognition that its work deserves. We’re proud not just of our relationship and partnership with Boro, but also our sponsorship model that has helped so many people in the local community.”
Head of MFC Foundation, Lynsey Edwards, added: “Having this opportunity to shout about the work the Foundation does is really important, in terms of recognising the efforts of our staff and the impact of our programmes, but also because it’s a great chance to appeal to the community to come along and get involved in the initiatives that can help them.”
In November, Kindred collaborated with Rangers FC to launch independent gambling education sessions for its players and staff.
