Pennsylvania's gaming market reached new heights in March 2024, reporting record-breaking revenue of $554.6m, an increase from the previous best of $534.2m in December 2023.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board attributes this surge to various gaming segments, with iGaming emerging as a primary driver.

Total gaming revenue rose by 7.6% compared to March 2023, reaching $554.6m. Notably, iGaming experienced a 29% jump in revenue, reaching $191.1m.

However, sports betting revenue in the Keystone State witnessed a decline of 10% to $45.6m, despite a 10.7% increase in handle to $800.7m.

In the land-based sector, retail slot machine revenue increased slightly by 1.1% to $227.9m, while retail table games revenue declined by 0.8% to $85.2m.

The total tax revenue generated from all forms of gaming and fantasy contests in March 2024 amounted to $229.6m.

Looking back at the state's gaming performance in 2023, Pennsylvania reported a record total gaming revenue of $5.7bn, marking a 9.3% increase from the previous year. The surge in iGaming revenue, which reached $1.74bn in 2023, contributed to this growth.

Despite challenges faced by certain segments such as sports wagering and fantasy contests, Pennsylvania's gaming market continues to demonstrate resilience and growth potential.

In January 2024, Pennsylvania revealed its gaming revenue for 2023, totalling $5.7bn, with a significant contribution from iGaming.
