here are some exciting new concepts out there and they will provide some interesting topics of discussion for the coming year,” enthused Russell Kelly of KPMG Isle of Man, commenting on the celebrated KPMG eGaming summit held in the Isle of Man. Over 200 delegates attended the summit at the Villa Marina on the 10th November 2015, to discuss in an open forum the challenges and opportunities of the domestic and global eGaming industry. KPMG has announced the release of its Summit Report, which documents the events and findings of that day, its sixth annual summit in the Isle of Man, and eleventh in a series which spans both Gibraltar and the Isle of Man.

Providing a detailed summary of the panel sessions and individual presentations by leading industry experts, the 58-page document offers a unique perspective into today’s eGaming sector, and proves informative reading for those who were unable to attend the Summit. Continent 8 Technologies are proud to sponsor the report, which is now available at kpmg.co.im/eGamingSummitReport.

Highlights of this year’s summit included a live polling feature, whereby delegates voted on a series of questions put to them via their mobile phones on the Bizzabo app. The findings of the polls were instantly revealed, offering an interactive dimension to the day and stimulating further discussion on a range of eGaming issues. The Summit welcomed back the IMGL for three of its world-renowned Masterclasses, including a fascinating look at the financing of the sector’s consolidation boom.

The report’s timely release comes just ahead of another important event in the eGaming calendar, ICE Totally Gaming on the 2-4 February. As Russell Kelly predicts, “ICE will be a very busy show due to the continued growth of the sector and the increasing importance of some of the larger operators in the wider leisure industry.

Consolidation will doubtless being a big topic of conversation, with both the GVC/Bwin and the Paddy Power/Betfair deals due to complete during ICE Week. That activity will continue as we go through 2016 and it will be interesting to see what direction it takes.”

KPMG’s Advisory Director, Micky Swindale added: “The other likely topic of debate during ICE will be changing regulation and the increasing compliance burden it is placing on operators, particularly in the AML/social responsibility space – we expect this to be an area of focus at our next summit, in Gibraltar on 21 April 2016.”
