Microgaming
ogaming has unveiled a new golf-themed slot game across its online network ahead of this month's prestigious Ryder Cup competition.

The Argyle Open is a five-reel, 40-line video slot which centres on a three-stage tournament bonus, triggered by three or more scatter symbols.

Gamers can choose from one of five pro golfers with the aim of putting the hole in as few strokes as possible to achieve maximum free spins. Up to 20 free spins are available with a 5x multiplier, and each time the bonus is triggered the player moves to the next hole on the course.

The slot, which was originally launched on the Microgaming casino platform in 2010, went live on 20 August in time for golf's Ryder Cup which takes place at Gleneagles from 26-28 September. The tournament will see the best golfers from Europe compete against a team of talented players from the US.

James Ford, product manager for Microgaming's multi-player games, comments: “For us, it’s all about timely content; delivering games to our operators’ players that will get them excited and keep them engaged. September holds one of the biggest tournaments in the golfing calendar, so what better time to deliver The Argyle Open tournament slot and the associated €100,000 network tournament! You don’t have to be at Gleneagles to be a part of the golfing action!”

Microgaming will use the new slot alongside its €100,000 network tournament, with entry into golf’s finest challenge costing €10 - with the top 50 players winning a cash prize and the champion taking home €5,000.
