Q&A: Saroca's new program putting your potential in motion

Saroca is launching something new aiming to boost leadership within iGaming among women: the LeadHERship program.

Saroca

Tell us all about Saroca – let's start with the basics!

Saroca was co-founded by Emily Leeb and Jessica Mangona, two women with very different skill sets who realised how well those skill sets worked together when previously both at a start-up. Both came up in male-dominated industries, Emily in iGaming and Jessica in VC-backed Tech. Emily has an expertise in talent development and Jessica has genius in operations and HR, the language of our customers. Fast forward to Saroca gaining clientele with organisations in the iGaming industry and it was a natural fit to bring in Claire Adamou as VP of Development, given her gaming experience and robust training as a life and leadership coach. Saroca’s niche is developing customised talent development programs for individuals, and teams that are tailored based on each organisation’s business needs and performance gaps. Combining both soft and hard skills with a human-centred approach is how we put your potential in motion.

How can women get onto the course?

Saroca welcomes any women in gaming, at a manager or above level, to join the program by Thursday 22 February 2024 at 3pm CET, with the first session starting at 5pm CET the same day (22.02.24). If anyone misses the deadline and would still like to join, please reach out directly to Emily or Claire to discuss how to catch up on the missed first session and join for the remaining 9 sessions. Registration is via the website: https://saroca.co/programs and Saroca has given Gambling Insider a special rate code to be used for anyone who wishes to join: Insider10

Unless you’re operating from an unhealthy place, why wouldn’t you want to strive for more senior female leadership in your organisation?

What are the main aims of the course, and who are you looking to join in terms of demographic?

The aim of this course is to enhance the skills of those already in a management, VP or C-Level position or above. We know there is a 94% improvement in self-confidence reported by leaders who have undertaken coaching, and 81% promoted greater well-being. The results speak for themselves for leaders this program is no different. We cover 10 models, across 10 sessions, with topics including overcoming imposter syndrome, learning how to empower and advocate for women in a leadership role, and how to manage performance and drive results, just to name a few.

How important is something like this for aspiring female leaders and executives?

This kind of training isn’t exclusive to women, we are providing a leadership and executive training program for and as a group of women. The program benefits all leaders in the realm of performance management, culture, giving and receiving feedback, and cultivating a work environment that yields one’s genius. The kind of skills we train around, combined with coaching, allows one to cultivate who they are as a unique, powerful and influential leader. Driving profitability by maximising performance in an environment that people thrive in.

Can we hope/expect to see the percentage of female executives in gaming increase in the coming months and years?

Saroca welcomes any women in gaming, at a manager or above level, to join the program by Thursday 22 February 2024 at 3pm CET, with the first session starting at 5pm CET the same day (22.02.24)

In the EU alone, mandates are coming down in 2026 for equitable representation at board level or else companies will be fined. I’m sure there will be organisations that simply check this box. And we’re hopeful organisations see this as an incentive to larger gains in market share and brand recognition, share price etc. Because what Forbes showed us in 2023 is that organisations with women in leadership roles are more profitable. Female founders, though more sparse, also yield higher returns for their investors. So unless you’re operating from an unhealthy place, why wouldn’t you want to strive for more senior female leadership in your organisation?

What are the long-term aims for the project?

While this course is specifically aimed at women in the gaming industry, Saroca will be launching various initiatives throughout 2024, which includes an Entrepreneur and Executive Wellbeing program, a personal and professional podcast and various ad hoc initiatives to the industry; which cover all levels of personal and professional growth, and targets men and women of all levels. The LeadHERShip Program will be available annually, with the 2024 program being the inaugural program.

Saroca also offers personal one-on-one coaching, and is able to provide bespoke programs for businesses looking to enhance not only their company and employee professional skills but their employee’s wellbeing.
