Macau
s gaming revenue (GGR) in Macau for July totalled 18.62bn patacas, down 35% year-on-year, figures released by the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau have revealed.

The drop marks the 14th consecutive year-on-year monthly fall and it is the fourth time this year that a monthly total of under 20bn patacas has been reported, which had not occurred since February 2011 before this year.

The figure is up month-on-month however, following the reported total of 17.36bn patacas for June, which was the lowest since November 2010’s outcome of 17.35bn patacas.

Macau’s GGR for last year was 351.52bn patacas, down 3%, and was the first annual drop to be reported since records began in 2002.

May 2014 was the last month to produce a year-on-year increase, and the record year-on-year monthly decrease has been broken three times within the 14 months of decline, with February’s 49% downturn to 19.54bn patacas standing as the current record.

January was the only month this year where a drop of less than 30% was reported, as its GGR was 23.75bn patacas, down 17%.

GGR for April was 19.17bn patacas and was the lowest to have been reported since January 2011’s 18.57bn patacas.

The year-to-date GGR of 140.26bn patacas is down 37%.
