Mooberry, who most recently spent seven years at Scientific Games, assumes control of Zitro’s North American business and is expected to lead the firm’s growth strategy in those territories.
He commented: “I have admired Zitro’s global development for many years and am excited about the opportunity to continue that growth within the United States and Canada. The future for Zitro is very bright based on the early success we are seeing in the domestic marketplace.”
Prior to his tenure at Scientific Games, during which he held four gaming executive roles, he worked as SVP Gaming for Scientific Games’ subsidiary, Bally Technologies.
He brings extensive knowledge in business management, sales and marketing, finance, product management and customer strategy with him into his new role.
Johnny Viveiros Ortiz, Founder, Zitro, said: “Derik Mooberry brings a skillset that is almost unmatched in today’s gaming industry. With his demonstrated leadership and business acumen, we are confident that his addition will support the company’s continued growth and success in the American and Canadian markets.”
Other members of Zitro’s executive team will continue their roles, reporting into the new CEO, including Mike Magrisi; who has served as Managing Director for the past 12 months.
The news represents a key move for Zitro in the North American market, having placed a strong emphasis on its LatAm growth in recent months.
Since the start of 2022, the company has strengthened its presence in Argentina through partnerships with Bplay and Codere in Buenos Aires, and Casino Fuente Mayor in Mendoza.
