This represents a 4% increase from revenue generated in August 2021.

Revenue reported covers all regulated game sources, including slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National generated the greatest total revenue, posting $60.9m in GGR for August, a 22% increase year-on-year.

The Hollywood Casino was one of the few casinos that saw a yearly increase in revenue. The other destination that saw notable gains was the Hollywood Casino Morgantown, which saw revenue soar to $7.5m, up 652% year-on-year.

Across the state’s casinos, slot machines generated the most revenue, making $201.3m in August. This is despite revenue from slots being down 4% on August 2021.

Revenue from sports wagering saw the biggest year-on-year increase, rising 89% to $33.9m from $18m in August 2021.

And it was Parx Casino that took the most revenue from slots, generating $32.4m this August. This figure is, however, down 11% on revenue from slots in August – a figure which broadly aligns with the slight 4% downturn in statewide revenue from slots compared to August 2021.

In terms of sports wagering, Valley Forge Casino Resort had the highest total handle of $132.1m and posted revenue of $13.6m the vast majority of which was made up through online wagering ($13.4m).

Revenue generated by Valley Forge Casino Resort marks a yearly revenue increase of 309%, having made only $3.3m from sports wagering revenue in August 2021.
