OnlineCasinoSpot says this is a surprise, with the assumption that those working in less “serious” professions – and with more free time – would be more likely to watch streams.
The study was undertaken by 14 streamers who interviewed 25,000 different viewers. The study was conducted between 1 March 2022 and 1 September 2022.
Results from the study indicated that 58% of stream viewers are women, compared to 42% being men. OnlineCasinoSpot says it believed men prevailed in viewership numbers prior to the study.
Aside from those in a technical profession, people working in humanities had high viewership numbers on slots streams: 33% of those who took part in the study worked in this industry.
The research also revealed that the majority of viewers watched slots streams in the evening as opposed to the day.
OnlineCasinoSpot’s Robert Lewis said: "It was even more surprising for us to find out that viewers like doctors, educators, lawyers and engineers follow the broadcasts much more often.
"And people practicing creative professions, including musicians, artists, photographers and the like, hardly watch any streaming sessions."
Lewis believes this can be explained by those in a technical profession wanting to relax after the business day, by switching their attention to something "less serious."
