Kyrgystan, a Central Asian nation that shares its eastern border with China and northern border with Kazakhstan, has been working to legalise casinos and iGaming for some time.

Now, two official online casino licences have been issued, going to Palmium and Internet Technologies Venice.

In the statement announcing the issue, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Zamirbek Kozhomuratov, was said to have announced the decision in Parliament, but that the online casinos these companies now have a licence to run “are not working yet.”

Further statements have been made regarding online casinos operating in the area without a licence. If the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan makes appropriate adjustments to the national laws on gambling activity, online casinos operating in Kyrgyzstan without a license will be closed.

On the subject, Deputy Marlen Mamataliev said: “All gaming areas must be located near the casino. But there are underground gambling establishments. If citizens witness such things, where should they turn?”

In 2022 a bid was won to establish a state lottery in Kyrgyzstan, with Elbet d.o.o and Axel Capital awarded the ability to begin establishing the lottery. With both companies having over 20 years of experience in their respective fields, the gaming industry software developer and equity hedge fund firm, the decision was confirmed by the Center for Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

It is currently unknown when the Kyrgyzstan State Lottery will officially launch.

Palmium is a company specialising in recreation and entertainment, while Internet Technologies Venice specialises in online casinos. The company's directors are Imankulova Veronika Konstantinovna and Aiperi Tszeyevna Kalybekova respectively.
