New MGM website shows commitment to Japan

MGM

mgmjapan
has further proven its commitment to the Japanese gaming market by launching a website to educate people on the potential benefits that a MGM integrated resort would bring.

The new website, which has a .co.jp domain, offers an explanation as to the company's background and what they plan to bring to the country's nascent gaming industry.

The Japanese public have displayed a lot of concerns towards the opening of integrated resorts, and the website also aims to prove MGM can deal with responsible gambling, crime rates near casinos and money laundering.

Having been establish a month after MGM’s press release which outlined the creation of their new Japan focused department and weeks after presidents Abe’s snap election, it’s fair to assume that MGM will continue to work on the Japanese market.

There is also clearly intent for the website to help strengthen the argument of those who may be in favour of integrated resorts.

One of the major economic arguments is the boost to tourism which MGM claim their IR’s will bring. The website states: “We will attract new tourists, supplement existing lodging facilities, and encourage the development of the tourism market.”

Whether or not the website will be successful in convincing certain Japanese politicians or members of the public is unclear. What is certain is that MGM is doubling down on its commitment to the market. The company is aware that if only one or two operators are allowed in Japan, as it stands, they are likely to be among the frontrunners.
