Operated by Malta-based WindGG, a joint venture between GGN Europe and Skywind Holdings, playgg.ro is licenced and regulated by Romania’s National Gambling Office (ONJN).

Offering a “fully localised experience”, this new website will include customer assistance in the local language, alongside responsible gaming and customer protection features as required by the country’s regulator.
GGPoker Global Ambassador and six-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu is from Romania and will inaugurate this new website via dedicated promotions, as well as featuring in playgg.ro advertising.
Moreover, while playgg.ro’s launch comes too late for the WSOP in Las Vegas, it has arrived just in time for the WSOP Europe Main Event. With €5m ($5.6m) in cash prizes up for grabs, the event will run from 3 - 8 December 2021, in King’s Casino, Rozvadov, Czech Republic.
GGPoker’s Head of Europe Marco Trucco commented: “This is another important step in the expansion of GGPoker into regulated European markets. Romanian players now have access to the best poker software, the biggest tournaments and promotions in the industry.”
This follows GGPoker’s expansion into several other European markets earlier this year, including the Netherlands’ new regulated iGaming space in October, and Belgium in July via ggpoker.be.
