International Game Technology (IGT) has announced that it has received yet another improved score in the 2023 S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), marking four years in a row where the company can claim this achievement.

The CSA uses around 100 questions across 23 different categories to assess the Environmental, Social, and Governance and Economic (ESG) scores of each company.

Each of the 61 different industries that the CSA covers will have specific sets of questions, with different weights for each of them.

In the 2023 CSA report, 65 companies were represented in the Casinos and Gaming category.

IGT received an overall CSA score of 55 and perfect scores in transparency and reporting, emissions, waste and water, as well as talent planning and analytics.

The overall score was a combination of its Global CSA Score of 54 and a Modeled Score of 1.

The CSA also found that the data availability from IGT, when compared to its peers, was ‘Very High’.

Wendy Montgomery, IGT SVP of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, said: “Achieving an improved S&P Global CSA score for the fourth consecutive year emphasises the positive impact IGT's Sustainable Play initiatives are making on our people, industry, community and environment.

"IGT embraces the significant value ESG programmes provide all stakeholders and we'll continue taking action to build a more sustainable future."

In Environmental, IGT scored 66, the maximum score for that category, while the industry mean was 28.

In Social, IGT scored 51 against an industry mean of 32, while Governance and Economic saw IGT score 53 against an industry mean of 33.

Not only has IGT recorded its highest year in CSA scores, with four years in a row of improvements, but also its highest EBITDA, as announced in its Q2 reports.
