Harrah’s Cherokee Casino has extended its deal with David Koechner to star in its advertisements, which will see him become its celebrity spokesperson.

The advertising campaign is titled ‘Put On Your Hat,’ which sees Koechner as the 'VP of the Party' and eating a burger while dressed in the traditional purple colour of Harrah’s brand.

Brian Saunooke, Regional VP of Marketing for Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos, said of the campaign and Koechner: "Our new ads continue to offer a glimpse of the world-class amenities that guests can experience with us, all playfully illustrated by our VP of Party.

"It’s exciting to see the evolution of our Party Hat campaign with the addition of Koechner who continues to deliver inspiration to viewers to have the fun they deserve at Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos.”

Meanwhile, Greg Carson, President at 62Above, added: “62Above called upon our decade's worth of casino marketing experience to create these fun ads that are in sync with Harrah’s advertising and yet unique to Harrah’s Cherokee.

"By using David Koechner to personify the party experience at both casinos, we were able to put a face and personality to the guests' excitement at Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos.”

Koechner is famous for his role as Todd Packer in the iconic TV series The Office. As Packer, he played a close friend of Steve Carell’s Michael Scott, who was often crass and disliked by many of the other employees.

Additionally, Koechner’s most acclaimed film role came in Anchorman and Anchorman 2, where he played sports reporter Champ Kind – who frequently uttered his catchphrase, “Whammy!”
