In a joint announcement, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) and IMG – a global sports, events and representation company – disclosed their collaboration, revealing that IMG has secured the exclusive rights to distribute international media coverage for CAF’s events in over 85 countries from 2023 to 2025.

Under this new agreement, IMG will oversee broadcast arrangements for the forthcoming editions of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), including the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 and the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

IMG will also be responsible for the distribution of rights for various other CAF tournaments, such as the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Women Cup of Nations 2024, the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship, men's and women’s CAF Champions League, CAF Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations 2024, Futsal Africa Cup of Nations 2024 and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2023/24.

VP and MD for Africa at IMG’s Media Business, Robyn Cox, stated: “The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations is the biggest event on the African Continent and one of football’s most watched competitions. We’re looking forward to expanding our partnership with CAF to help unlock greater value from its media rights, grow the competition’s global audiences and enhance fans viewing experience.”

This recent partnership further solidifies IMG’s association with CAF, following its appointment as the federation’s global sponsorship agency through 2025.

In addition to media distribution, IMG has inked other deals such as securing Puma as the official match ball supplier for CAF-organised tournaments and providing additional services like marketing intelligence, consultancy and data analysis to support CAF moving forward.
