GAN has appointed Seamus McGill as its CEO.
This comes after McGill served GAN as its interim CEO and on its Board of Directors, with the company peparing to close its acquisition of Sega Sammy Creation.
The previous CEO, Dermot Smurfit, resigned in late September 2023 after leading the company for over 21 years.
McGill was immediately appointed as interim CEO, although Smurfit remained a substantial stockholder after his resignation.
David Goldberg, GAN Chairman, said: “Seamus has the full backing of the board of directors and we are confident that his experience and leadership make him the most qualified candidate to be GAN’s next CEO.
“Seamus has been with the Company since 2014 and has a deep understanding of GAN’s products, customers, and strategy.
“On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I’d like to congratulate Seamus on his appointment and we look forward to his success.”
At the end of December, it was announced that McGill would step down from his role as Chairman of the Board, with Goldberg succeeding him.
This was so that McGill could focus on closing the merger.
On his appointment, McGill said: “It’s an honour to be named GAN’s CEO and I’d like to thank David and the board for their vote of confidence. Going forward, our focus remains unchanged.
“We remain committed to a timely closing of our transaction with Sega Sammy to maximise value for all of our stakeholders.”
