Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has given the green light for the region’s casinos to resume full operations, following the end of Macau’s post-lockdown consolidation phase.
The new stretch of Macau’s exit from lockdown will be known as the “stabilisation” period, a time in which all industrial and commercial establishments can resume normal operations.
The most recent consolidation period only allowed casinos to operate at 50% capacity – the latest measure will therefore come as an immediate boost to Macau’s economy.
However, the DICJ notes that stricter preventive measures, with more rigorous cleaning and disinfection practices, must be adhered to in the new stabilisation period.
Furthermore, all casino visitors must be able to present green health codes and comply with temperature testing policies.
Elsewhere, Macau’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre says the region’s mandatory hotel quarantine period for visitors has once again been reduced from 14 to seven days.
The quarantine period rose back to 14 days when Macau re-entered lockdown, but will be reduced again now the stabilisation period has come into effect.
The new quarantine law will come into effect from 6 August and applies to Macanese residents returning from foreign countries, as well as visiting tourists.
A statement from the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre read: “The measure applies to those who have completed a full course of the Covid-19 vaccine and to those who have not completed the full course of vaccination due to age or illness.
“The measure is also applicable to those who are currently under medical observation.”

What's more, the new quarantine law has resulted in four Cotai casino resorts being released from their duties as self-isolation destinations.
As confirmed by the Macau Government Tourism Office, the East Wing of Grand Lisboa Palace, B1 Tower of Grand Hyatt, Parisian Macau Hotel and Studio City Hotel have all been discharged from their role as medical observation zones.
This will free up further space for hotel residents and help give Macau an economic boost as it looks to recover quickly from its most recent lockdown.

Partnering with the operator bolsters AC Milan’s Asian presence, where it already has a regional office and a strong following on local social media sites in several Asian countries.
