Kambi Group has confirmed the resignation of CEO and Co-Founder Kristian Nylén. The decision was communicated to the Board of Directors.
Expressing his reasons, Nylén said: “The decision to stand down from my position at Kambi after so many enjoyable years has been difficult, but one predominantly driven by my desire to spend more time with my young and growing family.”
However, in light of his impending departure, Nylén has been proposed for election to the Board at the upcoming 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) by Kambi's Nomination Committee. Accepting this nomination, Nylén aims to focus on the strategic aspects of Kambi's operations.
Anders Ström, Chair of the Board, added: “Kristian’s role has been critical in positioning Kambi as a frontrunner in our sector. His strategic foresight and unwavering commitment have been central to our many achievements over the years. I am delighted the Nomination Committee has proposed Kristian for the Board, where his extensive industry knowledge will continue to greatly benefit Kambi."
In response to Nylén's impending departure, the Board has initiated a search for his successor, with plans to announce updates in due course.
In November 2023, Anders Ström assumed the position of Chair of the Board, succeeding Lars Stugemo, who stepped down after nearly a decade in the role. Stugemo's departure aligns with the decision not to seek re-election at the forthcoming Kambi AGM in 2024.
Last week, Kambi reported record-breaking betting numbers during the World Darts Championship final. The event marked the most bet-on darts event in Kambi's history.
