Tipico halts all new affiliate activity

The German operator, which is now headquartered in Malta, posted a notice on the top of its official website with a message for affiliate partners.

It read: “Information for all affiliate partners: Until further notice, Tipico’s affiliate programme will be suspended and no new registrations are possible.”

In an exclusive interview with Gambling Insider, EveryMatrix CEO Ebbe Groes recently said Tipico has seen online revenue grow during the coronavirus pandemic.

However, he also noted Tipico has suffered a shortfall in both the sports betting and retail sectors.

Groes said:  “A key example is Tipico, the largest bookmaker in Germany. We’ve been providing casino for them for two years.

“When they started, casino was like the icing on the cake. Together with us, they grew it a lot over two years, so we’ve become quite a large part of their revenue.

“When sports got this massive hit – don’t forget Tipico also has retail, which is hit even harder – they put a lot of effort into what they can do short term to grow online revenue.”
