lier Kiron Interactive has joined forces with distribution and broadcast experts Vermantia to set up the first pan-African satellite channel dedicated to virtual games.
The new service will showcase Kiron's virtual games portfolio, which includes horses, dogs, football, motor racing and cycling,
The 24/7 channel, which features live commentary, will initially be launched in betting shops in Uganda during the first quarter of 2015, with three of the country’s betting operators, including Gaming International.
Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya will also receive the service within its first year of operation.
Operators taking bets on events broadcast on the channel will be able to process the wagers via their existing sports-betting systems or via Kiron’s BetMan bet management system.
Thanos Panousis, Vermantia’s chief commercial officer, said: “The beauty of the Africa Channel is that it is a cost-effective, scalable solution and has a broad reach on a continent where virtual games have proved to work very well.”
Kiron Interactive CEO Steven Spartinos added: "We’re looking forward to speaking to operators in the coming weeks about how our new channel can provide a competitive advantage to their retail betting estates.”
