Amaya Gaming given UK licences

Amay

Amaya
a Gaming’s PokerStars and Full Tilt brands will be able to continue operating in the UK, after being granted continuation licences by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC).

The brands have been present in the UK as ‘white-listed’ operators due to their existing Isle of Man licenses, with the continuation licence awarded in recognition of these.

New software became available to both PokerStars and Full Tilt customers last Monday, which players will need to load before logging in.

Amaya purchased the two sites as part of its acquisition of Rational Group for $4.9bn in August.

The UK’s new remote gambling law came into force on 1 November, requiring companies offering remote gambling services to UK customers to acquire a licence from the UKGC.

Amaya has also been given a continuation licence for its B2B operations in the UK, and will continue to supply UK-facing online gaming operators with its technology.
