Studio City and Melco Resorts are exchaning managers. Benning previously held the position of the chief operating officer of Melco Resorts and Entertainment (Philippines) Corporation and was responsible for the operations of City of Dreams Manila. He replaced Geoffry Andres, who will become the property president of MRP. Incidentally, it is the same position Andres held from 2015 to 2018 before coming to Studio City.
The changes in management first came to light in April, when Studio City stated: “The appointment of Mr. Benning will take effect once the travel restrictions in Macau and the Philippines currently in place as a result of COVID-19 have been lifted, such that Mr. Andres and Mr. Benning are able to travel to the Philippines and Macau, respectively.” Up until now, Andres carried on with his duties as the property president in Studio City.
Inside Asian Gaming reported Melco Resorts implemented changes to its executive team just last year. Evan Winkler became president of the company, David Sisk took up the position of COO Macau and Andy Choy was appointed COO International.
