Betway granted sports betting licence by German regulator

Operator Betway has obtained a sports betting licence for the German market.

Licence

The regulatory authority granted the licence yesterday, giving the bookmaker the freedom to offer online sports betting products to consumers across Germany.

Betway already has successful partnerships with many German football teams, like SV Werder Bremen, Hertha BSC and VfB Stuttgart. This deal will solidify the operator's growing presence in Germany.

Anthony Werkman, Betway CEO, said: “We are thrilled to announce Betway has received a sports betting licence from the Regional Council in Darmstadt.

“As a leading regulated online betting and gaming company, this gives us the transparency and security to cement our position as a responsible gaming provider in the German market.

“We look forward to delivering on our commitment to our German customers, offering them an unrivalled online sports betting experience in a safe, fair and responsible environment.”

Earlier this year, Betway made moves in other regions around the world, securing the sponsorship of South Africa’s T20 cricket tournament.

It also targeted the Brazilian market with the Betway Squad Launch by utilising Betway TV to provide content.
