SkyCity appoints three new non-executive directors

SkyCity Entertainment Group will appoint Silvana Schenone, Julian Cook and Chad Barton as non-executive directors to the SkyCity Board. Pending the approval by regulatory authorities, the new appointees will be assisting the board in an advisory capacity.

Silvana Schenone is a corporate partner at MinterEllisonRuddWatts in Auckland, leading a corporate division, as well as serving as a board member of the New Zealand Takeovers Panel.

Julian Cook is the outgoing CEO of Summerset Group Holdings Limited, appointed in 2014, and before that he was the CFO, overseeing the company’s transition to becoming publicly listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange and Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). Cook is also currently a member of the Executive Committee for the New Zealand Retirement Villages Association.

Chad Barton was the CFO of The Star Entertainment Group Limited from 2014 to 2019, and Salmat Limited from 2009 to 2014. He established Women in Gaming & Hospitality Australasia, standing up for women's equality in the gaming industry. Barton is a director of NeuRA (Neuroscience Research Australia) Foundation and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Chartered Accountants ANZ.
