Penn National Gaming has joined the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) ‘Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly’ campaign, becoming the latest gaming operator to do so.

The regional casino operator, which currently offers sports betting in 13 states, will promote responsible sports gambling content from the campaign on its Barstool Sportsbook digital and social media platforms. ‘Have A Game Plan’ messaging will also be activated in all Penn National physical retail sportsbook locations.

Jon Kaplowitz, Head of Interactive, Penn National, commented: “Responsible gaming is core to our sports betting operations, and we’re thrilled to extend these efforts through our partnership with the AGA’s ‘Have A Game Plan’ initiative. Our customers are sports fans first, and this campaign will allow us to educate everyone, whether they are new to sports betting or seasoned bettors, on how to wager responsibly in a fan-friendly way.”

The socially responsible campaign, launched in 2019, is the AGA’s strategy behind teaching consumers the fundamentals of responsible sports wagering, especially as betting options expand across the US. The campaign focuses on four key facets of responsible gaming: setting and keeping to a budget, ensuring betting is a purely social activity, understanding the odds and playing with trusted operators.

Casey Clark, Senior Vice President, AGA, said: “Penn National’s expansive digital and land-based footprint will amplify our ‘Have A Game Plan’ campaign to consumers across the country.

"We are appreciative of Penn National’s significant commitment to the campaign, as we collectively work to ensure every sports bettor is equipped with the knowledge to wager responsibly.”

The company has joined the existing 20 partners of the campaign to date, which spans sports leagues, teams, media companies and gaming operators.

Penn National has incorporated responsible gaming into its company structure previously, ensuring its employees are trained in the matter, aiming for a continuing commitment to educate its customers.
