FanDuel Sportsbook app arrives in Wyoming

Wyoming has become FanDuel’s latest destination, making its sportsbook app available for bettors in the Equality State.

The sports betting brand, owned by industry giant Flutter Entertainment, has further extended its North American footprint, securing access to the US’ 10th-largest state by area, though its least populous.

As a result, Wyoming may seem like a weird next step for FanDuel, who recently became the first operator in New York to surpass the $1bn handle mark, and after only launching on 8 January as well.

But Wyoming, which launched online sports betting last September with two sportsbooks, DraftKings and BetMGM, is a considerably smaller market.

Nevertheless, FanDuel has arrived in the Cowboy State, bringing its sportsbook app and all of the ensuing features to Wyomingites.

This includes its ‘Same Game Parlay Plus’ feature, where players can combine Same Game Parlay bets from one game with bets from other games, as well as in-app live streams of sporting events, a cash-out early feature and 24/7 customer service.

Wyoming has become the 15th state in the US where the FanDuel Sportsbook app is available for iOS and Android, in addition to Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

And the Equality State may be a more sensible bet than it would initially seem. After a disappointing debut, with Wyoming’s sportsbooks only accepting $6m in wagers during September, the state’s handle has grown month-over-month.

For January, total wagers came to almost $14m, according to the Wyoming Pari-Mutuel Commission.
