Ocean Casino Resort announces new gaming and sportsbook venue

Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort will debut a 12,000-square-foot gaming and sports betting venue this summer.

After announcing a $75m property reinvestment last October, the New Jersey enterprise has now announced a new $5m venue, completing a recent $25m casino floor transformation.

The Gallery Bar, Book & Games is Ocean’s latest undertaking, combining a 100-foot elevated bar and lounge with slot machines and a mix of blackjack and roulette tables, as well as an adjoining sportsbook offering.

Sports betting services will be provided in partnership with USBookmaking, a subsidiary of Elys Game Technology. This comes after Elys received approval earlier this month to operate Ocean’s sportsbook on a six-month licence.

Bill Callahan, who became Ocean’s General Manager in February after serving as Interim CEO, commented on this new endeavour.

“Ocean is dedicated to being the premier gaming destination in the Atlantic City market,” said Callahan.

“This new venue will enhance the guest experience by providing an unbeatable atmosphere right in the heart of the casino floor.”

Featuring 12 slot machines and 140 feet of LED walls, alongside customisable lighting, Ocean claims The Gallery will “set the stage for social gaming, big game nights and an unforgettable after-hours experience.”

A 17-foot staircase will connect The Gallery to Balcony Bar, a mezzanine bar and lounge where guests can access Ocean’s sportsbook experience.

This comes after Ocean’s strongest financial year since opening in 2012. The property’s parent company, Luxor Capital Group, sold half of its stake in the casino to the Ilitch organisation last October, and simultaneously announced the $75m reinvestment.
