Oliver Lovat: "Everyone's a winner" with F1's Las Vegas return

Oliver Lovat, CEO of Denstone Group and regular Gaming America contributor, has expressed his delight at F1 returning to Las Vegas, where races were previously held at Caesars Palace during the 1981 and 1982 seasons.

The Grand Prix will become the third held annually in the US, in addition to the Miami Grand Prix, which hosts its inaugural race in 2022, and the United States Grand Prix, currently held in Texas.

Speaking exclusively to Gambling Insider, Lovat commented: “Las Vegas has always loved sports, and there are few bigger sporting events than an F1 Grand Prix. After many aborted attempts over several decades, the most exhilarating sport is coming back to the most exciting city in the world; and everyone’s a winner.

“Travelling fans of the sport get to watch it in the ultimate hospitality environment, and off the track, the teams, drivers and those involved in the race will be able to participate in the city’s entertainment offering. Armchair viewers will see streets they know and love being traversed by elite drivers, boosting viewership in the US market.”

One of the highlights of holding a race in Las Vegas will be the proximity of the track to famous landmarks, such as Caesars Palace, the Bellagio fountains and the Eiffel Tower.

Lovat added: “Sponsors will see their logos displayed alongside iconic landmarks. But most of all, this race will benefit Las Vegas, turning one of the quietest weekends in the year into a week-long spectacular with a significant economic impact.

“Already, the Las Vegas Grand Prix is looking like the highlight of the F1 calendar. And so it should be.”
