The operator called this development “the latest evolution in the Illinois Lottery’s Fast Play offering.”

When players purchase a physical Fast Play ticket, they can scan it via the Illinois Lottery app. The game will then “come to life onscreen,” revealing any prizes.

While many US lotteries offer something akin to Fast Play, instant win games that are similar in many respects to scratch cards, Camelot called Illinois the “first to bring those games to life” with a “digital reveal – for both iLottery and retail players.”

“We’ve transformed a black and white physical ticket into an engaging online play experience” said Tina Wolf, Vice President of Product and Partnership at Camelot Illinois.

“The Illinois Lottery’s Fast Play offering is modern, engaging, convenient and is attracting new players and driving responsible growth.”

The Illinois Lottery first introduced Fast Play in September 2020, though only for retail; it would take over a year for Fast Play to be made available online, through the Illinois Lottery website and app. In total, there are now 10 Fast Play games available both in retail and online.

Wolf added: “The development of the lottery’s Fast Play portfolio is centred around a pretty simple concept – exciting existing players and attracting new players.

“Following the launch of the Illinois Lottery’s Fast Play games into the online environment, over the past five months new players have grown by 40% and weekly per capita sales have grown by over 500%.”
