International Game Technology (IGT) has signed a contract extension with Westdeutsche Lotterie (WestLotto) through its subsidiary, IGT Global Services, regarding Aurora™.
WestLotto will use the technology to upgrade its lottery system for customers in Germany.
The Aurora™ core lottery system has omnichannel capability, opportunities to integrate with other third-party solutions and expanded functionality.
Andreas Kötter, WestLotto Co-CEO, said: "IGT has provided WestLotto with world-class lottery solutions for more than 20 years and is the trusted partner for us to provide the best possible player experiences and to drive growth responsibly for our business.
"We look forward to modernising our central system further through the implementation of Aurora and the many benefits its modules will present to our Lottery."
Founded in 1995, WestLotto is a member of the German Lotto and Totoblock, the European Lotteries Association and the World Lottery Association.
This isn't the only state lottery the solutions company has signed an agreement with recently, after IGT announced a partnership with the National State Lottery in Malta a few weeks ago.
Christiane Jansen, WestLotto Co-CEO, said: "IGT's global expertise and our extensive knowledge of the local lottery market complement each other perfectly.
"The partnership represents gaming of the future that is as innovative as it is secure and reputable."
Along with various lottery games, WestLotto also offers keno, sports betting and instant scratch card games.
Jay Gendron, IGT COO, Global Lottery, said: "As Germany's largest lottery with over €1.7 billion in sales, WestLotto requires the sophistication, reliability and innovation that IGT's Aurora central system delivers.
"Our high-performing Aurora platform and its components will enable the Lottery to manage its business more efficiently, while providing premier player experiences and maximizing funds to good causes."
