With the start of the 2023 National Football League (NFL) season approaching, ESPN has launched its new fantasy football campaign with a new marketing creative.

The campaign, holding the mantra ‘Only in Fantasy. Only on ESPN,’ uses the idea of fantasy football to help get the people in the adverts out of comical situations.

These will include saying ‘you too’ to a delivery driver or meeting a significant other’s father.

Rather than panicking, the actors in the three adverts use the common ground of Fantasy Football to recover the situation.

Each advert is between 15 and 30 seconds long and are named Steve, Commish and Delivery.

Seth Ader, VP of Brand Marketing at ESPN, said: “ESPN Fantasy Football creates connections and builds communities.

“In this campaign, we remind fans to continue playing ESPN Fantasy Football because it is the ultimate equaliser between people, and can help get you out of awkward situations.

“We’re excited to launch the campaign and get our millions of players ready for the upcoming season.”

The campaign will run from 17 July to 10 September and will feature across all ESPN platforms.

Alongside the fantasy football game itself, ESPN also provides draft guides, rankings, cheat sheets and analysis to help players out.

Players will have a choice to join either an ESPN Fantasy Football public or private league, with the default scoring setting applied to Points Per Reception (PPR), where players score points for each catch they register.

In other football news, four players have been recently banned by the NFL for breaking the league's gambling rules.
