VBet has announced it is sponsoring the Game4Ukraine football match that will take place on 5 August in London.
The match is aimed at raising funds for the restoration of the Mykhailo-Kotsiubynsky Lyceum in the Chernihiv region, as it has been significantly damaged by Ukraine’s ongoing war against Russia.
Ironically, the game is being played at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC, which was forcibly taken away from Russian Oligarch Roman Abramovic by the UK Government following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The two teams will be captained by Oleksander Zinchenko, the current Arsenal player, and Andriy Shevchenko, the retired Chelsea and AC Milan striker.
VBet branding will appear on the player’s kits, while the company will also promote the game across Europe – specifically in the countries it operates in.
Artem Ivanytsky, CMO of VBet Ukraine, commented on the game, saying: "We understand the value of responsibility towards the country, society and players, that’s why VBet could not stay indifferent to this event.
“We proudly support Andriy Shevchenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko in their endeavours. The global brand VBet will not only be a partner of this symbolic football match. VBet Ukraine will actively participate in additional activations aimed at increasing the donation amount."
Meanwhile, Shevchenko added: “Football and music have always had an incredible ability to bring people together and we really hope this will be a day to remember for everyone, united in looking towards a better future.”
Finally, Zinchenko also commented: “It’s incredible to see so many big names from the world of football and music come together to help us raise vital funds to start rebuilding our beautiful country. I hope we can fill the stadium on 5 August and really make this a day to be proud of.”
